THE QUANT PHILOSOPHER

About

Quantitative discipline, applied to a life.

The Quant Philosopher is a writing project about one idea: the tools that work on markets — probability, expected value, signal extraction, the refusal to overfit — also work on a life, if you have the discipline to apply them honestly.

I spent years making decisions under uncertainty for a living. The lesson that outlasted the work wasn't a model; it was a posture: hold beliefs like positions, mark them to market, and act on the trend instead of the last loud data point. These essays are me applying that posture to ordinary questions — habits, money, attention, time — and writing down what survives contact with reality.

What you'll find here

Short, dense essays — no filler — on decision-making and clear thinking, each usually paired with a single black-and-white diagram that does the heavy lifting. The aim is a high signal-to-noise ratio: read in five minutes, think about for five days.

And what I build

I'm building LifeArk — a low-entropy operating system for a whole life: finance, habits, time, and health in one private, measured system. The writing is the why; LifeArk is the how.
